Artist Thoughts: I was inspired by the natural beauty of the ocean and the way it interacts with the surrounding landscape. In this painting, I wanted to capture the movement and energy of the breaking wave, as well as the tranquility of the distant island. The bluish-green color of the sea and the rolling clouds above it create a sense of harmony and balance within the painting. The marks on the beach left by the retreating foam add texture and depth to the scene. I was also struck by the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks, which I tried to convey through the use of brushstrokes and color. Overall, I aimed to create a painting that captures the essence of the ocean and invites the viewer to reflect on the beauty of the natural world.
